Standardizes column data, removing the empirical standard deviation from each variable.

Parameters

matrix
Type: SystemDouble
A matrix where each column represent a variable and each row represent a observation.
standardDeviations
Type: SystemDouble
The values' standard deviation vector, if already known.
inPlace (Optional)
Type: SystemBoolean
True to perform the operation in place, altering the original input matrix.
tol (Optional)
Type: SystemDouble
The minimum value that will be taken as the standard deviation in case the deviation is too close to zero.

Return Value

Type: Double

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type . When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
Remarks
This method does not remove the empirical mean prior to execution.
